Got a Corsa 08 plate and Speedo has gone mad!
At first it wouldn't go below 40, but moved higher on the move...now it's gone of the scale!
No codes showing, disconneting battery takes it back to zero...but not for long.
Garage said speed sensor is on ABS so that light should be on...they think it's the clock ...but the fact that I can zero it shows the needle is moving freely.
Anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas ?

The sensor that drive the speedo and the ABS is a combined unit and fitted to the passenger side front wheel hub. Unplug it and see what happens. It'll throw an ABS fault light but that should clear when you plug it back in.

The speedo is a probably a stepper motor that is meant to be stepped back to below zero as the ignition is switched on.

If you are lucky its dirty, if not you need to get another dash pod unit and swap the PCB to keep the odometer value.

Or consider the true value of an 08 GM car and consider buying another car for less than the new spares cost of a dash pod.

Had a response from one of the Vauxhall forums...they thought that the IPC needed a software update or was faulty......anyone on here know what an IPC is ??......Googled it, but only got an American hip hop band!
