pre heat risers

  1. A question about the pre heat risers, i think that is what they are called, the narrower single tubes that connect to the manifold under the carb.

Been working on the van again interior work to make the van comfortable, started it up after a week and bingo all went well so took it for a drive then i Looked around in the engine bay and i don't know why but i felt the two pipes/tubes. The one on the left was really warm whereas the one on the right was really cold.

Is this normal or is there an underlying fault. The engine is a stock TP 1600 engine with a 34 Pict 3 carb. The engine runs ok but i don't want to keep running it with out sorting this out if that is what is needed and make the situation worse.
