Porsche front brakes on Late Bay

  1. Asked the same question on VZi and only got one response so try on here. Looking to fit Porsche Brakes on the front of my 79 Camper. Really want the 2-pot calipers as I thnk 4-pot might be overkill - don't wan to lock up the front end.. So is it 944 or Boxster, what other bits (I know T2D do a kit as do VDUB Engineering) or do I go the Wilwood route that Red9 Design offer. Opinions?

  2. What's wrong with the brakes you got, or do you need to mod them as you have a massive engine?

  3. Should have said that I have a set of Fuchs 6x16 to go on all round so want the 5x130PCD on the front. Rears are taken care of with the Creative Engineering Late Bay to 5x130PCD rear hubs. LA Perfomrance ar eon my list to contact but Northampton is a bit of a drive if I can get the parts myself and then get someone local to fit - I use Auto Technics in Epsom and Mark is a cluey bloke.

  8. wouldnt it be easier to get wheels that fit?

  9. Hi again,

Looked on eBay for calipers but most are rears - are fron & rear interchangeable? Also no hubs (as of yet). Can you let me know your prices so I can work out a comparison as I'd rather source from 1 place - it will all fit first time then!
Bummer on the CE rear hubs - will have to bear this in mind when Auto Techniks fit them.
    Thanks,
    Stephan

  12. Thought about the adaptor route but the camper is Porsche themed so I'm entertaining the idea of Porsche front brakes.... slippery slope ahead!

  13. I can sort you a 944 Turbo set-up... front and rear if you're interested?

Would be complete with all of the parts required to fit it, inc calipers... drop me a PM if you want to talk more :)

Also have a look at my resto thread, as it'll be the same as what's on the fish ;)
