  1. First pictures of new interior cabinets. Still minor bits to finish including fitting the heater vents in the rear seat panel. Big thanks to Dubteriors

    No vent for fridge?

  4. There was one in the floor and one in the frame. Is that enough?

Dunno that's why I asked. I don't have one, just the one underneath that's part of the frame, bub the unit mine's in is, shall we say, draughtier than yours looks. I thought as it has a fan blowing on the radiator bit not much point putting a hot ait out vent up high, but without ventilation it'll be less efficient. I think. :)

  6. I will see how it goes. If I waste a load of battery or it struggles to keep cool, then I will ask a chippy to put in a slot above and find a chrome vent trim to go with it.

  7. Still based on my Westy continental one. We will still have to be super efficient with what we pack, but there is a head cracker locker too.

  8. Wiring done by Sharp Auto Electrics in Norfolk. Leisure battery, split charging and 240v hook up.

  9. Tidy , looking really nice

  10. Nice:thumbsup:
Similar layout to what I am looking to do but without the walk through box. Oh and I plan to put a shallow cupboard in offside back between headbanger and load area.

Love seeing what ideas others have for their busses but throws up loads of questions lol.

With your kitchen unit, looks like two drawers and a cupboard. What have you done for water and waste water for the sink. I am hoping to fit a couple of removeable containers in somewhere. Oh and where's your gas bottle hiding?

I like the LED lights above Windows. Have you attached some ply under headlining in which to mount them?

At the bottom of your rear bulkhead you have what looks like two tubes protruding - what are they for as I haven't got any?

    Keep up the good work.

  11. Hi,

There is only one drawer - it is the middle. The sink is on the right side so encroached too much to allow a top drawer. The tank was going to be fitted under the bed - Dav at Dubteriors had found a 12 litre one that was thin enough to fit between kick panel the wheel arch. It could not be fitted as the supports on the Rusty Lee bed hit the top as it was moved. The tank will have to be in the bottom cupboard. The gas bottle is going in the small side box.

There was just enough metal lip left above the windows to attach the lights without having to put in extra ply - they may not be dead central, but close enough. My bus had the wiring to the dashboard still in place to switch on the original centre light that existed before the roof was put on. I have used this to be able to switch on the main lights from either the cab or by an extra switch on the side of the main pod.

The drain from the sink goes through the floor to the outside where I will have a catch tank underneath.

The two tubes are for heating the rear of the bus. I thought all buses had them, but it turns out mine is a deluxe with extra bits.

I did consider a narrow side cupboard and wardrobe, but this means that I would have had to take the fuel tank out to fit the bed.

    Cheers

  12. That would be nice and tidy in there. I have just fitted the full width Rusty Lee. The supports are a bit of an encroachment but at Techenders @vanorak suggested a mod to make them hinged. I haven't done it yet but it is simply a case of cutting the welds and drilling them to take bolts. They will then fold flat when in seat position and presumably allow room for the tank.

What size bottle fits in there? Has a lowered section been cut in the floor?

That sounds a nice touch being able to switch lights from cab or rear.
Think I need to strip back the head lining and see what is there to attach to. How are you finding the four main lights - enough or does it need more. What size/power lamps did you use?

I think that might be best option for me. Guess it just a case of drilling floor then belly pan.

We have full width for same reason but just want to retain wardrobe behind although it won't be a wardrobe - more a junk cupboard lol. Moved spare wheel out so we have enough width.

    Thanks for sharing

  13. it's definitely worth doing...

  14. Hi,

The gas bottle it a camping gaz 907 and the floor has not been cut.

I had my belly pans removed. Good thing too as the inner sills were in a bit of a state.

These are the lights I purchasd - they were recommended by Dubteriors and are bright enough. I would not put less in. I have two down each side and two under the top locker that have their own switch. To protect them further, I am purchasing a voltage regulator circuit that will output 12v even under charge from the alternator.

We binned the spare wheel too. I don't carry a jack anyway.

  15. you'll be measuring your cutlery and choosing foodstuffs based on whether it'll physically fit in the drawers...;)

Give or take, I've done the same layout....can't see the point in taking shed loads of stuff, unless you have kids...

  16. We have the one sprog, so still not too much stuff. Having the fridge will help and I do have one of those bamboo cab shelves to fit yet. The rest will fit in the cab footwells or in bags on the front seats when camping.

I like the layout. It is a shame to loose the westy wardrobe, as we used to stuff the bedding in it, but I do gain extra windows.

  17. Excellent work, well done.

  18. Shame the windscreen now leaks!

  19. That's a bummer!

  20. Easy fix though, no?
