WANTED Ply Floor for 1979 T2 Camper

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Gerald Casserly, Dec 17, 2019.

  1. Hi there,

I am looking for a template or an actual ply floor for my T2. If you don't have one to sell, even letting me know where I can buy one, I will be very grateful.

    Thanks

    Gerald

Madmatz sell a ply floor then fits together like a jigsaw but it’s pricey. Think I paid about £30 for a sheet of marine ply which I cut to fit.

  4. They are collection only aswell

  5. If you not sure , you can always make a card template ,from memory I made mine in two pieces out of marine ply 9 mm with bubble foil backed lagging under , which you could use for your template I spose .

  6. Thanks everyone. 9mm ply it is then, and then I will go all Blue Peter with some newspaper to make a template I think.

  7. Just being a bit pedantic here !!!
There is a lot of mention of Marie ply in this thread, if one is really using marine ply it would be quite hard to acquire and be in the region of £100 a sheet!!
The more commonly used ply would be WBP which is perfectly adequate for the job or even green Mdf specifically designed for moist areas.
Just clarifying an often encountered misconception

  8. As @its ted says , a quality WBP ply will be just fine.
You can use Cordex or similar to form a template, it’s cheap and can be cut with a pair of scissors
    Good luck
