As you might know the insurance company are fixing Skippy's roof after some arse knocked it off. The garage thought they had someone to manufacture the roof mechanism but apparently they can't do it now. The mechanism is just aluminium tubes and shouldn't be too difficult to make. The garage phoned me today to tell me about the problem and asked if I knew of anywhere to get the mechanism from. I don't, and I don't think the mechanism is avaliable now. Does anyone on here know of an engineering firm or suchlike that would be prepared to manufacture the new mechanism for me? I've enclosed a picture which shows a bit of it and if needed I can pop down to the garage and photograph the broken mechanism in detail.
Looks like a Sopru conversion, I can ask around down here but I don't hold out much hope. There was someone else on TLB v.2 who I was trying to source one for but having no luck, I think the went with having it remanufactured in stainless.
If you don't have any luck anywhere my father inlaw can make Anything . only problem is he's away to the algarve for a fortnight on Monday . I know that all sounds a bit vague but he's a Jedi master engineer
