replacing fuel lines and adding electric fuel pump and regulator and wandering where to put them? where have you guys put yours? cheers
My pump is under the rear floor where the original one was for the fuel injection. Generally I've seen them mounted in the O/S chassis leg or other side depending on where the fuel line enters the engine bay. All l will say is make sure you fuse it.
do you use a 2 relay set up or 1 or something else? iv spent the whole morning looking into how to do this and now my brain is mush after seeing all the ways people recomend.
In an ideal world you use a golf? fuel cutoff relay they're about £30 from heritage, mines just using a fuse at the moment coming from the ignition side of the coil. and is mounted on the rear chasis leg under the tank. Or From a good thread on VZi about fuel pump relays - http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=448416&highlight=electric+fuel+pump+wiring+diagram&page=3
see this is how i thought you did it but after all the searching today im getting all confused. so its ok to just to run of the coil with an inline fuse. which side is ignition side positive or negative
I'm sure you've read all the arguments about if your in an accident then your fuel will keep pumping etc etc, So in my opinion- to do it properly, do it like the picture, (I WILL do this to mine ) but to get it running In line fuse will do the job. But it is a little bit of a bodge.
yes iv read all this and to tell the truth it dosnt really bother me as how often do you have a serious crash where your engine dosnt cut out or you cant switch off and then the fuel keeps pumping and before you know it you are in a mushroom cloud. sometimes i think people think too much about what if..... but then again tomorrow ill probably say yea ill fit the relay haha cheers
