  1. A lovely member here mentioned this small company and boy, am i pleased they did.

Peter James used to be the 'james' of footman james. seems that he's set up in competition.
i had a real headache getting insurance this year fo my bug and camper. my 72 bug is my daily and both live out on the street in nottingham.

many companies wouldn't insure the camper (value and being on the street) and others were coming in at a silly amount of money. Until i called Peter James.
For £301 i got the bug and bus insured for me and 4 named drivers, unlimited mileage, agreed valuations, breakdown cover, european b'down, european insurance, 3rd party to drive other cars, legal advice yadda, yadda....

the lady that answered the phone dealt with my quote. i bought it yesterday at 4pm and this morning my certificates arrived.
no idea if it's any good for a claim, but a cursory look at the paperwork all seems to be as usual (it's with equity red star, think i've been with them before with another company).

I also let her know about this site and told her they can become a sponsor ;)

agreed i'm with them and i can't fault them at all.

  3. i'd never heard of them until here. over the last 12 years i thought i'd tried all of them. But they are efficient, friendly and have a very simple policy structure (it seems). no matter how many drivers i added (up to 4) it didn't change the premium. amazing.

(thank you if it was you that recommended them) :)

  4. Yep I always recommend them also since I think Birdy told me about them, £200 for my Bay and all the stuff you said above - why pay for anything else!! hehehe They are the only ones I found with unlimited mileage too what use is 3000 mile limit to me I do that in 1.5 months!!!

Dont waste your time looking elsewhere go with them.

Cheers for the head up Stan. I did indeed recommend them. I have both Peugeot's and the bus with them on agreed value and no mileage limits. This itself is great because I've already clocked up over 5000 miles in the bus!!!

And I totally agree about their customer service. So easy and the lady I dealt with was sooooo nice.

  6. Hi Guys,
Any chance of a phone number? Im looking for insurance at the moment :)

  7. you're welcome. they seem very good. i wasted a lot of time this week calling the *usual* companies. wished i'd called them first, i would've saved time as well as money :)

  8. Thanks guys, will give them a shout as the thread on another insurer has completely put me off them :)

We went with RH Insurance at the recommendation of Baybirmingham and one or two others, we saved £50 off the previous policy plus we got recovery assistance and they agreed the value without seeing photographs

  11. my renewal last july hadn't gone up - I've NEVER experienced that before. expect it will this year though :(
i've only used the breakdown once and it was AA who came out. Peter james were superb when i had a little bump - sorted everything out, just an an insurer should. :)

  12. I've just done a quick online for 3000 miles, it came out at £85!!
I need to get it insured now due to MOT being imminent :)
Will ring them tomorrow as they can't complete the full quote as they don't list camper on the drop down. Thanks again.

  13. I'm guessing that's good news?! Mine are on fully comp so and unlimited mileage so no idea for just one.
they are very helpful and lovely people every time i've had cause to call. :)

  14. Appreciate PJ are just the broker but will add that the handling of my accident claim involving a Portuguese driver whilst in France was faultless too.

I was half expecting the claims department to give up and go 'knock forknock' since the UK handling agents for the Portuguese insurance company were being unresponsive. But after 9 months and the threat of court action they finally managed to get an admission of liability.
