  1. I would be very surprised if the court gave the HA a possession order for that. I'm taking it you are an assured tenant ?

  2. Nice one, cheers :)

  3. Yep, had been a tenant with a different association for 5 years before I exchanged into this place and my tenancy transferred with me. Im starting to think theyre blowing hot air up my arse tbh, but I dont want to call them on it and find that they have some standing on it lol

  4. Sills: First I cut off the belly pans roughly and got the rusty mess out of the way. I tackled the sliding door side first, cutting off the outer sill below the track. Then drilled out the inner line of spot welds that holds the inner sill to the floor panel. Pig of a job - hope you have a decent spot weld drill. I then cut the inner sill off around the ends of the floor supports and ground off what was left. Don't cut off the middle sill on the sliding door side as you'll have a hell of a job trying to get the door track back in the right place. Instead, just cut the bottom half of middle sill off below the track.
I put the inner sill in first, plug welding through the holes I'd drilled and then getting underneath to weld it tight against the floor supports. After that, I butt welded a new lower half of the inner sill to the bit left at the bottom of the track and plug welded through pre-punched holes onto the bottom of the inner sill. Outer sill was easy - grind nicks every inch or so along the edge of the track so that you can plug weld the top of the sill to the underside of this edge, then plug weld the bottom to the face of the bottom of the Middle sill (having ground flat your previous welds on this bit). I'll see if I can get a few pics up for you though I don't have many.
Opposite side is more straightforward though still very time consuming. You need to drill out spot weld for inner and middle in the cargo floor.
Frankly it's a very big ask to do it all in four weeks - you'll find other bits that need repair patches made (inner b posts for instance). I don't want to seem gloomy, cos I really feel for you, but you need to be realistic. Is there a way you can move it to a friend for a while..?

  5. Sounds like an afternoons work to me.....you mustve kept stopping for cups of tea! :p
Cheers.....thats good advice and the sort of stuff I need! got a book coming from a fella on here which should have some pics in of the process, but the way my brain works I need to have a good understanding of a process and then I can usually get it done in good time.
Mines a twin slider, so I get to do the bastid side twice.....lucky me! lol

  6. Just remember if any of them come round when its finished and say "Wow cool bus", poke them in the eye with a pencil!

  9. He he. Lots of cups of tea me! How did you guess. Keep at it. It will all make sense when you get in there with the cutting discs.

  10. Good pics, thanks! :) hacking it out at the weekend so hopefully it'll all add up for me

  11. Twin slider - very nice!

  12. You would have to be served a notice of seeking possession before they even applied to the court. I agree with you I think they are bluffing you. As for the cills, I can't help you there......lol

  13. think of it as a very slow outdoor theatre piece....;)

  14. Maybe suggest to some "caravan dwelling travelling salesmen" that the other side of the estate want it tarred and chipped and there's loads of copper pipe they're not using. When they move in the heat will be off you;)

  15. I know a few of the local irish travellers :) theyre actually lovely people when you get to know them

  16. Grand job, how do you think the clipboard holders would feel about them, picture the sceen, a few transits with caravans pull up, you the hero have a word, they leave, and the HA leave you alone.;)

  17. I came home from work to find my bus had gone! Called the cops and later that evening a mate told me hed seen it being towed into a local scappies storage yard. Went there in the morning and had to pay to get it back. Council had apparently had it reported to them then apparently if it hasn't moved within a period of time they could remove it. They did exactly that but I had a few moments of red mist at the scrappies which could have ended badly (probably for me)

  18. Typical.....got the bus up in the air....ran out my electric.....just about to start cutting and it starts hammering down!
hoping it clears so I can at least get the belly pan cut out today!
Hopefully the book from @75swampy will be here tomorrow so I can get some proper progress in tomorrow
