i know there’s a few on here from Brum or the surrounding areas. I’m there this weekend and looking for parking options , stopping near Brindley place and the parking is very expensive - just wondered if anyone can either recommend a cheapish car park near by or further out with tram or train links ???
You can park on my drive and get the #12 bus into town - I'd offer a lift but I might not be there. I'll have a think about other options a bit closer (and safe/secure). ...
I was told that when parking in Brum the best idea was to park as near as possible to a police station. That way you didn't have as far to walk to report that your car had been nicked. I was given the same advice for South London as well.
Depends what direction you're coming from. If we're not getting train direct (from Lapworth) we often drive to Selly Oak and get train from there. Fiveways probably easiest for Brindley Place, nice easy walk down canal from there.
In all fairness brum is actually a nice place to be around in the day. We used to park by the law courts in the old dental hospital outside car park it's very small so I would give it a miss if you don't know the area. Haymarket is ok but a tad spendy 12/15 quid but it's center ish
I think you were mistaken.... https://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au...hbourhood/history/the-birmingham-of-australia
I'm a 6 hour drive from there.................. we don't even bother locking our cars out here in the bush.* Except in ski season.
We're a one hour drive from the nearest airfield which has 2 flights a day, I still say Ms.T should have let me buy that 3/4 scale Feisler Storch ...... that way we could have flown out from the farm direct.
Which direction are you coming from? I’d catch the train in to the centre, Birmingham International from the south for example. Colmore row had a pretty good car park and everywhere is walkable from there if you must drive in.
Thanks for all the helpful replies - especially the kind offer from @Louey I think we’ll try the five ways car park , it’ll only be £24 for the three days we’re there , half the price of others we looked at
