I thought most of the list was done and dusted with just a few odd bits to do or redo? Didn't look that much to me?

I'd do the "do's" first, and all the time reconsider the "redo's". Leaves you free to change your mind.

  2. Zed the only bits that will be redone before the mot are the rear arches

Ive got two new outer arches here ( i was going to use them to make repair panels for the inner tub)

It would be quicker and neater and i could protect the repair better if i

Lopped off the outer arches ive bodged
    chop out the inner tubs
    weld new inner tubs in
Zinc prime the tubs and the back of the outer arches
Weld new outer arches in properly

The only draw back is the cost of the inner tubs but as jk are doing zero percent finance for 12 months it would be rude not too

The other jobs that need unpicking and redoing can be done after the mot

  3. She didnt look a bad bus when i bought her but thats the usual story before you start digging lol

It looks the right shape, the seams are there and the door fits flush - first things I look at.
It looks honest enough. I'm guessing it wasn't £10K!

  10. Glad you had a good time at the wedding dude and cheers for the kind words about my bus

  11. I always like getting new shiny bits through the post ;D

I paid a little less for mine than you did.......no MOT and had been sitting around for 4 years..........I thought I'd payed too much especially as I didnt think it was that bad ::)

keep ticking off those jobs and it will be on the road soon enough.

....I was going to strip and paint all my mechanical bits but I just want to get it on the road :( ......dont really want it to be off the road for another year, hope you have it MOT'd for its 40th Birthday

I know what you mean about feeling down about the work left to do, I think we all go through that stage in a resto.....probably several times ::)

keep working through it and you'll feel the love again ;D

With the end of each phase comes an opening of the mind to the true extent of the next.

  15. Theres a fine line between genius and madness zed

I find when im zoned in outdoors miles away its genius and when im straight and in the normal money oriantated world its madness

Diddy when i bought my bus prices were a lot less than they are now and i thought id paid too much
Especially when they supposed full recon engine spat the bottom end in the first week of owning her

I know some see my painted parts as making work for no reason but it helps my head and keeps my motivation up
and im safe in the knowledge that every part of the mechanicals have been through my hands and inspected and treated with love

And i bloudy hope my bus has an mot by the time shes 40 as shes the same age as me just a young 33

Easter she will be on the road
If easter was good enough for gods son to be ressurected then its more than good enough for my bus
The body work will be in need of further fettling but the underside and mechanicals will be as good as the day she left the factory

Cheers to everyone that posts on my thread it really spurs me on
Hopefully they will love me back for the attention and see me on many trouble free journys

  16. Your doing swell there dude, you'll get there...and when you do you'll find a whole lot else to do with her, it's not the destination, it's the journey that matters 8)
