Last nights gig was..... Fleetwood Mac in Dublin! Very good but I’m still ranting as Irish ferries cancelled the morning ferry we were booked on so we got the later one that got in at 5.30. 2 hours later in a cab we got to the gig but had missed The Pretenders who Shane Macgowan sang a couple of numbers with Also they had changed start times so Pretenders came on at 6 to about hardly anyone and Fleetwood Mac had just come on when we finally got a drink from the one bar
I was fuming as the cabbie said they tend to cancel the fast cat if it’s not full so if we had booked on to another slower ferry we would have got there lunchtime, not the one they knocked us on to. Lesson learned
Sounds similar to when I flew over for my grandads funeral and they cancelled a flight out of the blue. Louey
You would think that the operators would know that some ferries would be light on passengers and calculate into their plans. Louey
But you were there! Jealous. Really wanted to go to Wembley but the price for one seat was the same as a weekend festival ticket. £230! No way.
A couple of friends are going tomorrow, they paid a blimming fortune! Luckily I'm not that bothered by Fleetwood Mac so I didn't have to disappoint our friends by politely declining to go with them Our daughter is at Wembley today to see the Spice Girls, I was even less inclined to go to that one
WHAT THE WHAAAAAAT! I paid over a hundred to see them about 5 years ago. Brilliant gig though. Me n Mrs Tatty went to see Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac recently in Harrogate. The band were even introduced, albeit on video, by Mick Fleetwood. Gig was ok, but I was glad I’d seen the genuine article too. Would I go see them ( the tribute act) again? No.
Wish I’d been there for the 5 years ago gig. How were they in Dublin @Merlin Cat? Any motorised scooters on stage?!
It was v good, tho I’m still v narked about missing The Pretenders . I’ve seen them on YouTube and it looks as if Shane Macgowan was in a scooter for his duet with Chrissie Hynde, but the Fleetwood MAC folk were pretty agile still . I’ve decided that Christine Mcvie is my fave followed by Mick Fleetwood. I think we paid about £100 and were v near the stage. Some folk in our bit paid lots more so we must have been lucky to get them before the ticket companies banged up the prices.
First day back at work and my brother messages me to remind me that we have a gig tonight Ozric Tentacles. Support is from a duo who only dogs can hear her vocals because they are that high pitched Silas & Saski. The main thing is, a very kind barman got me a tall stool to sit on
