...And for those who're thinking about it... Given that you don't see everything that's gone into it time wise, but quite a nice watch
Watched this the other night and was smiling big time at how fast it actually goes. I can't get it off my mind now about buying a 1303 and a scooby lump
Serious doubts about the rad location if you were to use it on the road. Dunno if they have some kind of duct going to it. If you watch the q&a about it on the other chanel they say they have the fly by wire set to 50% throttle to keep traction so what you see is about half what the engine can put out. Awesome stuff.
That was good, and the programme does really show how much serious work goes into an installation like this. It did look as though the installation would struggle with cooling (rad and intercooler with remote rad setup) over long periods rather than on a drag strip.
That cooling won't handle the power, I'd suggest a maximum of ten minutes at best. Drag strips and trips to the shops will be fine though. According to my new found Scooby friends, to run over 350hp on a daily basis you would need a vast amount more cooling and an intercooler of humungous proportions. Good fun for the strip though and the traffic light Grand Prix would be awesome. Anyone know the difference in weight between a Super Beetle and a Doka?
nice one! interesting to see the similarities and difference between the scooby watercooled and vw aircooled cases
seriously fancy this conversion for the Karmann ghia, could easy fit the rad up front in the ghia, would be a hoot to smoke the £100k shopping karts between the lights..
