Its early days and I might miss my first self imposed deadline of Big Bang, but in preparation for my drag racing debut and wanting to please the crowd with some burnouts Is there an 'off the shelf' line lock system available to plumb directly into a vans brake circuit? If so, is it a simple installation or does it require a lot of 'engineering' ? Also, does anyone know if such a system is road legal in the UK and across Europe? I can heel and toe but its a bit hard when the brake pedal is a foot long
Might want to ask Mark at Autotechniks for some advice. check this video out http://youtu.be/Vg7MCyl579o or their facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Autotechniks-Type-2-Performance/110083145937?sk=wall Some good photos on there. They built my engine, and are seriously into their drag racing. Mark has two busses one runs a 13.5 1/4 mile and the other runs a 14.6. He is now building one to get into the 12's !! He is also the burnout king. They will be at big bang this year. Worth a look mate.
That's an impressive burnout in a bus. I think they are road legal Joker. I'm sure there is something similar fitted to one of the race Golfs the garage looks after.
His engine was done by Autotechniks, possibly his line lock as well. Alex also works at VW Heritage Will also be at big bang. He is over on the earlybay forum.
I am hoping with my new exhaust on, mine should be around the 120bhp mark. More than enough for now......
Don't often see a bus doing doughnuts everyday !! I think that was taken at the Hod Rod Show, in Chimay in Belgium. http://www.hotrodshow.eu/ Mark is running the burnout box this year. This years show is on the 23rd of June. The family and I will be going over if anyone fancies tagging along for the weekend.

I'll have a hunt for a metric one.... I'd also be tempted to fit an isolator switch so you can't activate the lock unless you want to (push switch is fitted to the gearstick)
