  3. He did a great job in getting them fitting correctly...saying that, he's done awesome at getting everything fitting on that bus correctly lol

    more updates, this time, the front beam... after a bit of a fettle with the special tool No1 (Screwdriver) it showed me a rather scabby rust spot...

    so, its time to get that off....

    and after a fair amount of swearing and cursing..

    I did want him to remove his mask and show his true identity, but even van restorers, like to remain elite...

    now, with abit more digging... all was not good

    so i started to clean it up properly, with a wire brush on the grinder...

    now at this point, some would say that its goosed, throw away, and get a new one.......

    wheres the fun in that?!

    i would happily carry on, but as you can see, the light was fading and the guys next door would be getting alittle cheesed off.....

    hopefully we will have the beam fully repaired tomorrow and back on the bus......

  6. crikey!!!! most people would have scrapped that beam ....well done for saving it :D

    from the first couple of pics I thought you were going to use the newspaper to pad out prior to filling it over with body filler !! ;D

    Yeah thats what we did, we packed the old beam full of newspaper and applied around 4 tubs of filler over it, welded beautifully.... Oh no wait.. it was repaired correctly, thats right....i remember now...

    lol... ;)
     
  8. Top work as allways mate , I've got my beam to take of soon but I found one right round the corner from me so think I'll just change it

    Well just a quick update tonight...
    Beam now fully repaired and painted up... looks superb

    hes only made a metal press!, should come in handy when we start on the doors..

    Beam is now back on the bus, missed out on some pictures as we lost the lights, but ill grab some tomorrow.... :)
     
  10. Home made press is ace wil save a few pounds there , I'm looking at one from machine mart as I'm to lazy to make one lol keep up the good work

  16. Evenin chaps.... yes im still around, and Ollie is still a work in progress. Had alot happen this past year, mainly buying a house and getting the daily drive sorted out (T4..)

    There has been alittle work done on our Ollie, mainly the window frames being rebuilt and the sliding door top 3/4's remade. Bit gutted ive havent been able to sort much more, but i will plod on when i get more time, will get my face shown around here abit more too, ive missed you all!!! 8)
