Oil temp gauge type 4 engine

  2. Thanks for the link, I knew i'd seen them on the samba but couldn't for the lig=fe of me remember what i was searching for when i saw them, he also does some other quite funky stuff, like the deep ish sump :thumbsup:

  3. Is it just a case of swapping over the "taco" plate, fitting the temp sender and wiring it in?

    Yup, me too and my venture into oil temperature is hopefully in the very near future.

    One thing I do need to source is a 75/80 mm gauge as I want it to fit in the spare hole next to the speedo.

    Well it seems there are several ways to skin this particular cat. Does the relief valve still relieve if necessary?

    I hope so; I fitted mine five years ago and the engine hasn’t burst yet.:thumbsup:

  11. Yes it does still work as normal, my oil pressure gauge confirms that. Plus CSP build quality stuff and i doubt they would risk the reputation of the company by blowing up our engines!!!! not good for business I would say ;)
