This bank holiday I felt a bit of a nomad, had 4 nights in my van , 3 of which on my own not really knowing where I was gonna be the next night and really enjoyed myself! I met up with friends but didn't have the misses with me as I usually do so didn't have to plan too far in advance. Stayed on a mates driveway Thursday night with Emma and had a few beers, then she started working a weekend of night shifts so I was on to kettlewell on Friday on my tod, pitched up had a few beers and listened to music! Lovely! In the morning got a message from a close friend asking if I would like to join them at their campsite in Husthwaite so after a tea and soup at the Kettlewell tea shop off I went. After a not exactly easy 1hr 30 drive I hit a 30 minute diversion but eventually got to Baxby manor hidden camp site greeted with a beer and news of the two of them getting engaged which made the journey worth while. We had more beers then more friends arrived so went for a meal and more beers then fire! And some beers. The next day drove to Malton in convoy I brilliant sunshine on a amazing road stopped for dinner and then out on the night for more beer back in Hornsea and camped on said friends driveway. Slept mostly Monday then out for beers and a meal in the evening! So had a blast sorry if I've gone on a bit!
No plans , just head off - it`s the future Totally agree with the sitting in a field reading a book / listening to the radio / music / birds / river . Travelling solo can be a double edge sword but worth the experience every now and again .
Sounds like you had a great weekend Tom, We all bailed out of Kettlewell as you know but you more than made up for it, Hard core, Nice one
I also found myself thinking " I would be more than happy to break down here" as I was driving through the dales in the dark, I have everything I need in the van so I very nearly pulled up and wild camped, wish I had now haha

Also if anyone is interested the solar panel works a treat, forgot to turn my cooler off one night and it showed the battery at half charge but by the time I left the site it was back at full! Charged my phone constantly and had music constantly without issue
