  1. Shhh. lol.. I had thought about fitting a string of soft LEDs around the edge of the speakers..Behind the mesh grills.. Not sure about that though..
I'm not keen on tacky or shiny bling.

Now that I've worked out how I'm going to fit my bargain bed I need to put it to one side and get on with the next bit..
Some of you may have read on another thread that art b delivered some goodies at the weekend.
I was surprised that no one asked what it was.

  2. Many thanks to @Top Banana Racing for letting me borrow the giant wheel clamp ^^^^^
I've still got to build the front beam so I can fix the front wheel clamp :D and roll away.

  3. The beam was a mother to get back on and then the new ball joints gave me even more trouble.. Messed two of them up pressing them back in :( but eventually I got it in place ..

And then removed it again because this turned up.

Those beams look like a prototype that never got finished properly to me.

That’s just jealousy;). It’s a far better design than the standard trailing arms and amazing considering they also sell that horrible coil over conversion  And I’d like one.

The uppy downy bit looks ok, it's the square section stuff between. In my sad imagination I'd have said the VW beam is a stand-alone sturdy thing where the Red9 one looks like it's passing the buck to your chassis.

Sorry - I used to be a mech design engineer hanging heavy wind-catching stuff on dangerous things and I can't help looking past the good bits and only seeing the worst parts, which may in fact me perfectly adequate, I just have to seek the weak points and get rid. Wouldn't want a 3m Microwave dish falling from a high voltage pylon/gasometer.:D

  10. Works perfect to me. may sure you keep us in the know. LOL

  11. It's on

I'm going to roll it over, sort the underneath and when that's done I'll have the beam off again to give it a coat of paint.. What colour should it be

looking good, you must be about ready to trial fit the subaru stuff :)

  18. I think I'm making good progress recently but having time to work on the bus is the big issue. My plans are to roll over the bus, clean off 43 years of Marmitee and then paint the underside all one colour with rustoleum? I would like to paint it a light colour so I can see if any rust returns. I don't want to spread half a ton of that black underseal on it to mask inperfections. While it's on it's side I hope to sort out the sills and any other welding that needs doing underneath. Then I get to the exciting bit.. Subaru.

Edit.. My day off has been changed from thursday to tomorrow so I'll have another go at it then

  19. Small update.. I think that I have put the rollover jig on the bus the wrong way round. The cross braces didn't want to stretch from one end to the other without forcing the upright parts closer together so I lowered it back down to the ground and took the jig off again.
Fitted on the outside of the wheel base.
Fitted on the inside of the wheel base.
With the disc parts of the jig all towards the inside of the wheel base it shortens it a bit and the cross braces fit spot on.

    More to follow.

  20. ^^ With that all done, and everything straight.

Double checked everything to make sure it was tight. And it was tight, I have a roof support right in the middle of the unit leaving me about 14 feet to roll it over.
