hi again mark, looks like one of the previous owners was lazy, yes you're supposed to remove all old rust and replace, check out some of the resto threads, The Reverend Diddymen will i'm sure be along soon to welcome you to the S.M.G and he and others will put you right on the panels, no point bodging it if you plan to keep it, it's off the road now so do it right and do it once.

Welcome indeed. That was a poor quality skin. What you need are genuine arches, pricey but the cheap ones are fit for the bin. I hope you've started a resto thread.
