Newbie and novice, eek!

  1. I've driven LHD (including a minibus), but not an LHD VW van.

I'm so wary of eBay, gumtree etc (although I do like browsing on there!) - I'm sure there are plenty of legit ones on there, but it's so hard to know - and easy to be fooled if you're inexperienced.

I've seen two on here I like - one of them I am very seriously interested in (both LHD - but the boss is coming round to the idea now - not that I let him drive very often anyway!)

LHD isn't a problem, both of our buses are lhd, I love em!

    See you all at techenders!

  3. Better for the driver LHD as the passenger gets it in an accident

  8. Thanks guys for pointing people to my van, its on eBay now & I have had quite a bit of interest this time, I MOT'd it on Monday & have been smoking around in it this week. It goes like a rocket. :)

  9. Hello from Lichfield. My advice would be to buy an prototype bay then inappropriately join a forum for late bay owners.

I agree that Techenders is the best place for advice - best thing I have ben to as an owner. I have a RHD 71 Devon Dormobile pop top with a new custom interior. Good luck with the search!!

  10. BTW - prototype is the forums speak for earlybaycampervan (you can't actually type the words e a r l y b a y as it automatically changes it it to prototype)

  12. Hello and welcome from Notts!
As you've already seen there's lots of friendly and knowledgable folks on here, take your time decide on what you will/won't compromise on (led/rhd seems to be one for you) and use the guide on here to check what is good/bad on a van when you go look at one.
    Good luck

  13. LHD parts are much easier to source. For example anything to do with the sliding door - hinge mechanisms, locks, rollers, the door itself. LHD late Bay steering boxes are available new, RHD are not. I could go on....
