Rebuilt engine is just about finished and I am looking at fitting degree pulley. Our present one is 10+ years old so a better quality than most now. Are scat a good product that wont leak and will I need a sand seal/shims etc. https://www.limebug.com/product/view/644/t1-crank-pulley-scat-billet-black
Umm the pain I went through last year with this I ended up using a stock large pully as my engine is low revs more grunt. Lots of people said the burg one was the best after market. I used to rate scat engine stuff but have not handled any for yonks. Good luck
You shouldn't need anything special unless your case has been bored out behind the pulley. The Scat looks ok, although the markings may just be painted on. The CSP pulley is excellent, but pricey. You'll only need shims behind the pulley if you can't get the belt to line up straight between crank and alternator.
The markings can rub off If you keep on removing it, the aluminium wears away much quicker than stock on the crank and keyway leading to potential for the keyway to widen and make the degree scale a bit less accurate. Mine has a groove in it where a slipping belt decided to have a go. Pulling it off is a skill involving tapping it with a soft hammer while pulling on it- a puller could easily destroy it or chew it. Use a stock pulley as these just work and are cheap enough..
