Iv private msgd a pal of mine told him what u need he is busy for the next few weeks ect but he is willing to come to u remove and rebuild ur engine and refit it for u get it working I'm not sure in price but contact him for a quote it's Martin from muscle bus say Simon passed u on
Honest guys stick with it once u spend a little in it the memories u will leave ur kids is epic I restored mine and Iv travelled 17000 miles ok it's had a few hiccups but my kids love it all they go on about we have just been over to Disneyland Paris in ours for 8 days I will never forget there faces

 

did it break down often?

 

Charlene I bought a 1641cc recon from The Engine Shop (£850 7 years ago) done about 11k miles in it without any real problems, I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and drive 200 miles, mind you it wouldn't be going over 60 mph , my village garage owner did the engine swap for me and knows what he's doing (currently restoring a split) having worked of plenty of aircooled vw's . I'm around 40 miles from you in Mid Wales it might be worth you getting your van over here as labour rates are also cheaper out in the sticks .

nope - i've even decided not to get a 68 bay before/on my 50th now...... if i have another old car to tinker with i'm going back to a landy.

I used high tech motor sport they have moved to Kidderminster now closer time he knows his stuff it went in 29.9 hp came out79.9hp not touched it for 17000 miles still sweet getting around 25-29 mpg even tells u best speed to get best mpg mine is 56 mph as I got 1600 gearbox but well worth the money never gets hot I'd think nothing jumping in it and driving 450 miles ... Oh wait I just did to Paris lol

You lot are ace.....it'll be a couple of months before we can even stretch to £850... Still have solicitors fees to pay from house move! Eekkkk but this looks like a great option!
