FOR SALE New correct servo hose

HI, I have this advertised on a well known auction site but if any Latebay members are inteterested i can offer a reduced price of £25 including UK postage .Comes in 1 metre length and have approx 10 units to sell.Please see description below.
A OEM VW type 2 Bay brake servo hose. This is exactly what should be fitted to a VW bus .It is 12mm ID and 19mm OD and is the correct cloth braided type hose and wire braid inserts. All VW bus part suppliers sell a far more inferior product that is way to thick in diameter ,incorrect ID [albeit 1mm] difficult to work and engine tinware will need modifying to allow the larger hose and original grommet to be fitted. It is 1m length so loads to play with should you have fitted different carbs etc. It toke me some time to source the correct hose and once it is gone it is gone.

That doesn't sound like an actual NOS part.

More like something you've reproduced to original specifications.

 

Fair comment ! I used the term NOS to highlight its quality rather use the term reproduction which does sound a bit like a compromise on quality .
It is 100% exactly correct in dimension and materials and made in Germany .I purchased 5 metres of it directly from Mercedes and this is surplus.

Is this the right hose to go between the reservoir and master cylinder?

 

This is exactly what I do now, having closed a well established resto shop through retirement, I'm using my spare time trying to offer like minded people a better product of whatever I find that is an exact replacement for original rather than use repro.
Most time, components are sourced from a company rather than make it themselfs, and servo hose is no different.
Time and time again, I used to ask the big players in the VW parts market, and we all know who they are, why don't you get it remade to OEM spec, but as we know it's cheaper to have It made and shipped from the other side of the globe.
I now drive VW Colorado and I'm in the process of tracking parts down, that Karmann sourced to build into there vans that are still available at a cost, but I've found a supplier here, in England that make the same part for penny's, not pounds.
So, fair play to Milky or whatever his name is, he is filling a gap that the big guys fail to do.
