  1. I’m not saying should charge import duty on them all I’m saying is if they do it to us the we do it to them they then have a choice fair deal or not

  2. So the moral of the story is:

If people from other countries take your jobs, move to another country and do the same thing to them?

  3. I no they are not British cars but they provide jobs for people in this country who then pay tax in to the state and all the manufactures here are concerned about is selling to us and Europe so if we say that if Europe charge us to sell to them we charge them to sell to us and the money is used to offset the difference that way the company’s make the same amount of money and keep investing here but if Europe don’t charge us then we do the same can you really see them bitting there nose of to spite there face I can’t but maybe it’s to simple a solution.

  4. doesnt work like that. "Under WTO rules, cars and car parts, for example, would be taxed at 10% every time they crossed the UK-EU border. And agricultural tariffs are significantly higher, rising to an average of over 35% for dairy products. "

  5. Food is cheaper now than it was years ago. Its obscene

If British agriculture paid a decent wage instead of insisting on selling carrots for 30p a kilo, then perhaps more young Brits would do it.

But who is going to tell them that going to university and doing £30K debt might get you a job in the fields....

  6. So what’s to stop us taking the 35% that’s charged on agriculture and using it to bring the price down here ?

  7. No, I can see the overseas owners of UK manufacturing plants moving elsewhere as they sell more cars across Europe than they do here.

  8. Polish builders have gone home with their millions , building themselves better living standards . See our minimum wage buys more in their country so ,they are getting richer , our farmers are too . Farms round here used to be farmed by local people but they weren’t given little holiday camps to live in . Others are , media are very good at bending truths if it sells news , just look at all the media moguls who run the world init :hattip:not pointed at you just one of many ways it can be looked at

  9. Because farmers will still want to treat workers like peasants even if they are Brits. The only reason European Labour is preferred is because they are more likely to accept living 10 to a house and hot-bed doing shift work. Do people honestly think Brits should revert to that standard of living in order to compete?

Personally, I've given up on politicians - they're all the same but with slightly different agendas and not not a clue how to realise them.
I think our saving grace over this whole departure from Europe is the good old USofA - without their current predicament we would be playing a part in the biggest comedy sketch never written. Instead we're coming in a close second, trumped only by Trump.
Personally, I think Charlie Chaplin should have taken the world's reins 80 years ago when he wrote the final speech for The Great Dictator. Some people think I'm wrong for 'dreaming' of a unified world free from barriers, intolerance, and, ultimately, hostility... but I'd rather dream of that than strive for devisive polarity.
Christ, we can clone a sheep, why can't we all get along? It shouldn't matter if you're in this club, or that club... but for some reason - for the ends and vanities of our politicians - it does.
May has pulled out every string to cling to a flickering power she's inherited, and lost every ounce of respect across the board. Corbyn promised a refreshing change, but is now proving to be as much of a vain, stubborn, old goat as the rest of them.
    I really do give up.
    Rambling rant over.
