It's a good show. Some clubs spend a fortune on their stands. My cars will be on display on the GCCG stand though only in picture form.
The only time I ever really enjoyed it was when I actually displayed the 504 on the Club Peugeot stand because I kept helping myself to a little vodka or 2 from the boot. Jolly good fun. It's just not the best place to take pictures. Too many people and awful lighting.

  7. loads of interesting bits and pieces to look at last time I went...

  8. I usually go to a few classicshows but started to prefer the smaller ones more informal and less competitive people! I sort of gave up trying to take photos at the bigger shows always the great unwashed with their sproggs in the way haha!
    Enjoy yourself ;-)

No, but I am going to the nec next Friday to see Andrea Boccelli.

  10. Me either, I've been before a couple of times and it is what it is.
This Saturday we're nipping up to Whitby for fish n chips at the Magpie.

  11. Last went 3 years ago - stuck for nearly An hour in a traffic jam trying to get in - then £8 to park and £12 to get in -£15 without a club ticket . It is a big show though and lots to see - take butties with you as they are expensive inside - we were knackered after 5 hours of walking round and still don't see everything. But once every 4 years is enough for me - probably go again next year then

  12. Mm mm
    - chippy chips!

I've been to a few, the last couple with @rickyrooo1 - though I must confess his general lack of patience, moaning and all round Clarkson like attitude wore thin.

    Oh hang on.

    That was me

He was perfectly amiable and happy go lucky bless him - well, apart from when he was running for the train.

I got tired of the 10 million other people there and no where to sit down (after 6 hours of being pushed about, you need a sit down and a brew in my eyes).

I think there is scope for a survivor's only show - one where the boggo stuff that is used a lot and not perfect but represents its age and use - I'd love to see an 70's or 80's only show with these cars.

I guess you can only look at some many pristine e-types.

  14. There is one, I went this year, it was held in Devils Bridge in Wales and is called by a word that the filters prevent from being typed on here, "Marmiteefest". I saw a Panda, a couple of Lancias, a Beta and a Y10, a 504, Triumph Acclaim, a Sherpa, but no Sherpa coupes, (they were banned), a Daihatsu Sirion. As the captain of the Titanic is reputed to have said, "the list is endless".
You get the idea. The sub title to the show is, "generic, boring motorcar show" bloody brilliant. The 2015 show will be in Hampshire somewhere. Pm me for details.

Went today. Not too packed and actually got a seat easily to drink a coffee and home made sarnies.
Reasonably quick to get in which made a refreshing change. Only spotted one late bay but lost count of the split screens - common as muck LOL.
    Several Beetles too.
Does inspire though with loads of superb vehicles - even if a Series III SWB Land Rover had a screen price of £42,000, unbelievable.
Autojumble was worth a visit with plenty of bits and a massive can of rust release for £3 which will come in very handy tomorrow on the van.
Journey home oop north was the typical M6 nightmare with a lorry overturning and spilling its chemical load over both carriageways meaning both were closed from J22/23 and the tail back seemed to last to Stoke! It took 4 hours...
Enjoy it of you're going tomorrow/Sunday.

  17. ive been a few times,
there are some great club stands with partial repaired classics,
    and lots of interesting traders,
    its a long day out,
Eddy should be there with the split screen van club @Beaver

yeah, been to a few but this year my wingman has bailed on me so i'm gonna have to sit here all alone all day doing nothing and getting depressed, but hey ho.

  19. Superb, I thought about sitting in slow moving traffic and trolling my way to the NEC but no,
We drove three hours each way for the finest fish n chips and a pint of black sheep.
