  6. Well I took Christmas off and started again last weekend so these are the fruits of a couple of weekends work before and after crimbo! Happy new year to one and all!

Both the rear windows on the drivers side where pretty knackered as well as the recess so decided to pay Alan Schofield £50,00 to produce two pieces of metal for me! Needed to cut the shape of windows out cos my van was originally a panel van.

Still need to fill inside and out but she is in and welding finished!

Before I bought Myvanwy somebody turned her into a smoothy and front panel inner and outer rotten around windscreen so decided to rip the whole thing off and start again!

Initially I thought I would try and repair the top of the front panel and remove the plate over the grille hole, hence the repair pieces and the strange piece on the front panel where I have cut some of the filler away! But it was all gonna be a bit of a hodge so off with her front! Then repaired inner panel at windscreen edge

I found taking the front panel off an absolute nightmare because when they modified the bottom half so there was no deformation panel or bumper they had seam welded a piece to the bottom of the front panel and top and bottom of the rear valance! Finally managed to get it all off and was delighted to see that A pillars and front inner valance where in good condition as was the heater box etc!

I then cleaned every thing up and applied some stuff that stops any surface rust stone dead!

I then coated the whole area with coating to stop any further rust. And the inside of the front panel!

I have forgotten which thread I was reading but I remember somebody mentioning the best way to pop the front panel on was to use cargo straps so I got me a couple and way to go!

That is as far as I have got so next job is to bend edges around A pillar tack weld pillars and bottom of panel to inner valance then remove all fastenings and try the doors! All in all quite pleased with myself!!
