Lovely resto deano, high tops have really grown on me over the years to the point where I now want one Exhaust sounds good, welcome to the scooby club(although looking at the start date on your thread you owned yours before me)
Nice 1 Chris.. Can't wait to drive it, never drove one, a scooby conversion that is.. And yeah, I love the high top because it's curvy, gonna look great with the louvres in it. Means I can keep it sparse in the back, no cupboards etc. Hehe getting excited now.. Can almost see the end. It's about 6 months or a few grand away.. Depends how you look at it.. Haha.
Actually, that's the first bus I've seen a visor look good with - I think it goes well with the hightop. Usually I hate them.
Hi fellas.. Yeah I'm really torn about the visor.. I saw a hi top on google images with the same roof and a visor n it looked ace.. Tis why I bought the visor. But now though, I dunno. I don't really fancy drilling holes in the 'a' pillar seams either.. Dunno, gotta give it another good dose of looking at.. Hard to see if it looks tat or not in the pics, not really the same wi two students holding it up.. Ha.
Ignore me. I just dont like them. Then again ive got a viking and like high tops so what do i know lol!
Hey all, few more pics of recent progress. Heater plumbed and completed. Need a belly pan to protect it. Currently seeking a good en. Sump fitted with sump plug welded in. give it a blast with some high heat matt black. Accelerator pedal linkage fitted. Bit of U-pol here n there where I've sealed the holes. scruffy git. 'T' adapter for oil pressure so I can run a gauge. The gauges. couldn't get em here, had to ship em from US n got zipped up for £30 tax. Love em though.
Trial fit of deck lid went well. Had a bit of fettling, (about 2 hours) to get it to close. This is how it sits against the seal. takes a slam, nowt new there. Prepping the apertures in the hi top.. still buffing the window frames, gotta build em up yet too. on ma list... Oil catch can.
Final prep to this massive sledge before fitting it. Had to strip back the edges where they had been built up for a bit of rigidity.. bad idea, made it not fit! So a really enjoyable few hours last Tuesday, (hottest day of the year) in a paper suit with a mask, sanding fibre glass... one of the worst sunny days ever! Last couple of pics before bonding the roof on. The roof going on was tricky, a few helpers n using the ramp legs to lower it on was the answer. Used a thick bead of tiger seal, took 4 tubes, need a little more though just to brush up and neaten here and there. Went well I suppose, I was dreading this bit. Oh yeah stuck the front reg plate on too.. They're not cheap are they, wow, £25 for 1 plate n a tenner for the mount, £70 for plates.. yuk. That's it again for now, gotta get them windows for the roof built up and fitted, brushes for the wiper motor are on their way, still gotta create a dip circuit, (changed to H7 bulbs). Need a roof vent too. Oh n shockers. ready for MOT then.. Yay.
