  1. Nice! I was toying with doing something similar myself. How did you secure the dock in the ashtray?

Having moved house recently I searched high and low for my hot glue gun and couldn't find it. Resorted to super glue!!

If it fails, i might try some little self tapers

  3. Nice work on what was the ash tray, we love it!!!

    Back to the important stuff...

My friend received his new collet, so without further ado I start cutting into furniture!! :O

Not all that happy with the edging. The finish has started to scratch off a bit and some of the ends look like I drafted in Stevie Wonder to help!! It's easy enough to pull off if it winds me up... Just have to see how much I have left once I've done the big units

Long day without much to show. Finished edging some units, slipped with the router (fortunately in an inconspicuous location) and drilled holes in things I've painted or trimmed previously!

Tried one of the speakers in these cupboard and the bass in the 5 x 7s is enough the rattle the cupboard doors!!

and so the project goes on hold for a few days... Lazy Nicki decided enough was enough at 31 weeks and we now have a very little baby boy, Jude Ewan, born at 14.49 on Wednesday 23rd, 2lbs 10ounces.

He's doing very well under the circumstances. He's being incubated and ventilated but on the minimal assistance required.

    Isofix anyone?!

  8. Where did you get those metal cups/inserts in your buddy box?

    Off topic!! ;)

eBay, search marine cup holder... About £4.50 each. Apparently cheaper than Bugaboo :p

While avoiding some family and waiting for others to drop by to see Jude, I got a few hours down time to tidy up and throw wood in the van :)

Need to keep pushing this on a little as the units are built and sat in the lounge waiting! Finished the last few bits of edging, installed the last few catches and bolted up the quarter unit properly...

For those who hadn't worked it out, the top of the unit is a removal table for use in and out of the van, hence the shaped area inside the top for the leg to settle... It has another little trick which I'll save for another day :)

Mother and baby are doing very well and we're hoping Lazy Nicki will be home in the next day or so. Jude is going great guns and giving the nurses a run for their money fidgeting away! We've joked that the little cubby at the back of this unit is big enough to make a little crib for him :)

An hour this morning resulted in...

And the wall panel to take the table... I joked to the misses that if she was discharged today we could go out for dinner... Although this probably isn't what she was expecting!

Penultimate pieces in this week. The floor is a bit on the *******, so these don't look as level as I'd like, but I have no time to fettle!!

Kick panel and electrics to follow. I'm debating internally whether I should make use of the weather and finish this weekend or crack on with the nursery... Might have to check with the boss!!

Right, that's me done until littlun comes home, with the exception of finding some rattle reduction tape!!

Kick panel in, speakers wired up in the back and a ground wire added for the leisure electrics.

    On for the insurance...

    One of my favourite details!!

Hopefully we'll get all nice weekends in November + December so I can wire up the leisure battery, hook up and a few other tweaks!

Also creeping up the priority list is the rusty roof and gutters. Hopefully it's cosmetic, but without a garage or time to hand I've decided to Ankor Wax to buy me a bit of time to finance the garage build!!

    Tiny update....

As some of you know we've been temporarily relocated after a house fire in Feb, so working on the van is pretty limited. Even when we were at home, the new born is proving time consuming too!!

Had a play with heating in February as I'm using Landyn as an almost daily driver. Plumbed in the risers and concertina pipes on one side and got some heat in the cab. The other side was hindered by the fuel cut off solenoid I installed so is a job for another day... Along with the cables.

What I thought was a broken clutch a few weeks back turned out to be broken driveshaft bolts, which was frustrating... But we're back on the road now!!

Today, I've managed to do a few left over interior jobs. Firstly was to add latches to the seat boxes... Found these stainless catches on protex website, after a lot of searching!!

And fitted some curtain rod ends which have been a mini project for a while!! Designed to match the jail bar fittings, I had them 3D printed and they work a treat!! Would prefer them to be chrome painted tho!

Rusting roof is still a major concern... :(
