  1. I saw this van on gumtree just after christmas so convinced my wife and kids a day trip to the north would be fun, it was living in a shed in northern Ireland as a failed project. On the surface it didnt look too bad but I had a few sneaky fears that there might be the odd surprise waiting. So i stripped the bus and sent the shell to jon and tom at vw spares for blasting to see the extent of the poor repairs

The bus wasnt too bad but there had been some less than perfect repairs in the past and a lot of filler, so i decided to replace the offending panels and with full panels and little or no filler.

All the running gear was removed and completly overhauled drop spindles were fitted and an adjustable rear suspension. Servo brakes fitted and all new braided brake lines fitted, the old 1600 was upgraded to 1835 with a big exhaust and a few clever tricks inside. The engine was built by John Bowles of seven oaks a famous formula vee engine builder.

We then decided to go for a special paint job and interior the seats are out of a 944 and the furniture is from vanwurks.[IMG]

Hello, and welcome to the site!

We all love a good picture, even better a set!

Yours though at the mo don't seem to be working - in fact the broken links take me back to the days of alt.newsgroups.pamelaanderson.python.....where the links were broken in the early days of the web.

Have a look at the photobucket sticky - its a good service and easy to use buddy!
