  1. Well today I have been making the extension to the 3/4 bed so that we can have all three kids in the back, so we dont have to leave one home alone anymore (joke).

Also this afternoon I decided to fit my alternator seal and also replace the alternator cooling boot as I know it has been cracked since I got the Bus, I just knew how much of a bugger it is to do.

I followed Ratwell's guide to get to the alt and the boot. i also removed the centre cooling fan to help seat the seal easier

  2. MOT tomorrow so cleared out all the crap so that it looks a bit more presentable. once the MOT is done I will put some more time into the Bus and hopefully get it sorted to use more often.

Garage is getting built beginning of November so that will defo start the big sort out once that is done.

  3. MOT Passed with no advisories. 12 more months of motoring. hopefully we will actually use it this year (if i ever finish the fifth seat!!)

    well done pkrboo!!

  5. Congrats on the mot dude

  6. changed the gearbox fluid today, it was surprisingly clean but it has nice new clean stuff now.

magnetic plug had a nice tree of metal on but nothing more than i would expect for a gearbox that is 33 years old!!

  7. absolutely easy peasy. just undo the fill plug first to make sure it isn't stuck solid then undo the drain plug and let it drain out. I jacked the front of the bus up to help it drain out.

then topped it up, i took out the heating bellows to get the bottle at more of an angle to fill the gearbox and also left all the new bottles in a bucket of hot water so it would be nice and thin and run smoother

  9. Oh forgot to say i used Halfords own gear oil. it is Hypoid so the right type, cant remember the weight but i think it was 75w90 or something like that. i will check the bottle i still have.

  10. Looks very nice M8.. 8) Got the fifth seat all sorted?

  11. Changed the breather hoses I can get to without taking the firewall off, will do those later.

Here is the state of the old hoses next to the new stuff I have got [IMG]

  12. back home at the weekend so will hopefully get then hoses inside the firewall done.

Then will feel much happier about driving it.

Also need to look at the front left brake as it seems to be dragging a bit. might just be where it has been sat during the winter,.
