  1. Something like that. :(

All my piccies seem to have gone bye bye this morning.
Photobucket have now decided to charge you if you want to post piccies onto a forum. Minimum of $60 a year.

  3. Theres 5k piccies on my photobucket account though and about 1000 of them are from my bug resto. I assume i'll have to download them all and rehost somewhere else.

  4. Heres a couple from todays faffing session courtesy of Facebook. How long before FB stop hotlinking of piccies i wonder?

Gonna take a bit of work to get this gap tightened up. :(

Looks OK from this side though.

I presume you have a smart phone and your taking pics on that?

Download an app called Tapatalk... find this forum and then you can upload pics straight from your phone... and poke 2 fingers up at the pic websites!

  6. Yep. Does anyone use a proper camera anymore?
I've tried tapatalk app before and couldn't get on with the forums using it. I rarely go on the forums using my phone though.

We own a DSLR, but rarely use it... I take more creative photos with my iPhone and Instagram!!

Tapatalk had got better over time, certainly the pic upload is betterer now...

    Look, it's my hand...

    Just like that ;)

  8. Made this little panel to replace the rot i cut out of the spine bottom.
Bit lumpy in places but some stonechip paint will cover most of it.

  9. Gonna seam weld this edge plus theres a load of 8mm holes for plug welding too. Should make it strong enough.

Managed to get this gap closed up a bit. Still needs a bit of tweaking to get it right though.

Made the recesses in the drivers side floorpan for the pedal reinforcement piece and for the accelerator pedal mount to sit in.

  10. Decided to poke a new fuel line through the tunnel while the bottom is off.

Next step is to weld the bottom of the spine back on and the framehead bottom before flipping it over and welding on the napoleons hat section and the 2 bits of front floorpan.

  11. Got some welding done today. :)
    First section in.

    Framehead bottom welded on.

Test fitting the napoleons hat section. A few welds will need grinding down to allow it to lie flat.

  12. Welded the naps hat on today.
Even that panel isn't square and needed persuading to fit where it should.

  14. Seems i've managed to full my picture quota in my bug resto album on facebook (1001 piccies) so i've had to start a Part 2.
Been having another sort out of parts and seeing whats still needed and what is salvageable.
Rear Z bar mounts all cleaned up and painted satin black.
No idea where i put the Z bar though and its not exactly a small item to misplace either.

Box of mostly interior parts i still need to sort though.

I've made a start on my shopping list for Tatton but the problem is we're off on holidays for a few days afterwards in the camper so space is gonna be at a premium meaning wheels and bumpers migh not fit. :(

  15. Fitted a mexican bonnet seal to my bug and with a 4mm gap along the top edge (which looks about right to me), the bonnet's nose doesn't fit correctly. If i increase the gap to 9mm the nose fits fine but the gap looks huge.

  16. Made a couple of brake hose mounts from some 2mm plate as they were missing from the klokkerholm framehead bottom.

Gave the underside a quick coat of grey oxide primer.

Still need to fill this rather large hole in the pan.

My black and decker power file decided to eat the bearing on the roller on the end of the arm and as its not available as a spare part i have to buy the whole arm.

  17. Seam sealed the welds on the framehead and tried the floor pan 1/4 out.
Would have been nice if Klokkerholm had cut the front of the floor in a straight line and at 90 degrees to the spine side. Gonna make it rather difficult to plug weld it to the napoleons hat section with only 3mm of the floor over lapping.

  18. Hi Martin, if you need anything bringing back from Tatton, I could bring them to mine and you collect later !

  19. Cheers.
I think most of the stuff i still need is only small so will fit in the van OK. All the bumpers i seem to find are just as pitted as mine are so might have to bite the bullet and buy new ones (or just run it with stainless T bars for a while).
Its just wheels that are the things that will take up the space i won't have.

  20. Cut and extended a couple of welding clamps today to reach across the floorpan to the lip on the spine.
They're a little bit flexy but shuld work OK.
