Impossible to say without seeing it.
It could be that £5k makes it mint; it could be that it doesn't!
Remember you can't polish a turd
But you can roll it in glitter.

Nobody can say without getting their hands on your bus. Your pictures are very low resolution.

...and that's just the bodywork, then there's engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, interior and whatever migh lurk underneath those pans.

  4. Ok thanks all... We will bring it to dub freeze and get a few opinions before doing anything else...

  5. Is it a big job to remove belly pans?! Only I hoped border would have to check properly ....

Belly pans - there are early and late. The side ones are welded on and these are the ones that hide the horrors.
Early don't have any ventilation and removing them often leads to new sills and outriggers + chassis and floor support repairs, and even cargo floor repairs.
Late outer pans have ventilation holes and removing these as often as not you mightget away with a couple of patches on the inner sill.

Look at each end - take a pic? The belly pan ends inside the outrigger - has it been patched over?

A bit far from Notts! I was gonna suggest if you lived close, to have a look over, write up a fault list and prioritise things..it would only take a morning - get you started! The bus looks tidy enough from the first pics you posted up, I'd suggest a 30k resto was a bit steep!

If you have a few photos underneath, chassis, jacking points, rear valance, front n rear suspension areas, that would tell us a lot & get some initial advise going

Its funny how (and I'm not being horrible here) people buy these things completely blind and then instantly go into panic mode!

Bring it to Techenders, learn how to fix bits and get shown around loads of other vans. You'll soon pick up what's what.

Most sensible thing you've posted yet. Don't spend any more money except on breakdown cover and petrol.

I wish I did own the company, were Mechanical Engineers and Software specialists; HBM UK Ltd. I have two bays, one of the directors has a '71 with a 2332 race motor.
