    Whereabouts are you?

  3. The centre of Britain,:)
    Northampton..

  4. Donington, loads of history, good technical track with reasonable facilities.

  5. I think Ron still runs the trackdays at Donny too. :)
After that Brands Hatch (but only full circuit) then Cadwell Park, Silverstone is obviously closest. Snetterton is very technical now but flat as a fart.
600 definitely the way to go.
If you get stuck for leathers etc give me a bell, I know plenty of people with spares.

  6. If you want to get really adventurous try Cartagena or Jerez, realistically only a few quid more and you get the weather! Plus you can take the Mrs for a sunny holiday.
I can ask Viagra Bob who runs the shows down there, I've done dozens and tutored on them as well. :)

The Mrs might like viagra Bob..:p

  9. cannons or castle...:p

  10. Bob is taken now.

  11. Cool..
    obviously a game lass...:p

  12. Did you slap them if they braked round a corner?...:D

  13. Regularly.
As Mick Corrigan used to say "you should be accelerating all the time that you're not braking. If you're doing anything else you could've gone quicker"

  14. Donny is favourite ..

  15. Legendary circuit - wear a nappy the first time you`re `on it` down Craner

As an aside , i`ve just finished reading Tom Wheatcrofts facinating autobiography . A self made multi-millionaire builder , he started buying up old Grand prix cars for peanuts as they came up for sale in the `50s - `60s when no-one wanted them , in effect , saving them from the scrap heap .
Although Donnington was used for racing between the wars it fell derelict after WW2 and wasn`t until the mid seventies that it was bought by Tom , initially to give him somewhere to run his classic GP car collection with a few mates on a weekend and after much investment (and legal battles with nearly everyone !) brought back to life as a true race circuit in the late `70s .
I`ve been going there since the late `70`s and just assumed it had always been used since year dot !!

As TBR says , great facilities and a fantastic undulating ciruit . You can rent everything from the race school but it`ll cost if you deck it ....

The museum is well worth a visit whilst you`re there - and buy the Wheatcroft autobiography !!

    GO FOR IT

    :hattip:

  16. Cheers ..
Yup I've read some books about donny in the 30's with the mercs and auto unions..

I've been there for lots of events..minardi two seater f1 cars, vscc ,bike GP,s

I've been around the museum..a long walk..
