  6. We looking at the hole???

  7. I'm booked for an MOT this weekend is it going to fail on the hole?

  8. Cheers buddy! So this is bolted through the tray itself? Just one?

Not if you stick a bit of metal over it with some sealant then paint some underseal on it.
Just as a temporary measure till you repair it properly of course!

  10. Lock the engine lid and leave the V5 on the passenger seat for the chassis number. They can't test what they can't see, and oh dear, you've lost the key.

    Alternatively, fix it!

  11. Definite fail then... Quick fix to get the mot then fix properly after then!

  12. The battery tray should have an angled bracket which holds it along the right hand side, and the clamp goes on the left bolted though a hole with a captive nut.

Edit: Here's a pic, shamelessly stolen from JK:

Interestingly, the left hand side "battery tray" does not have a clamp.

...and apologies for the thread hijack! :)

Is it the chassis or the battery tray, the trays on both sides of mine are corroded but it passed.

It's the chassis. If MOT man got his ruler out, I think that will be within 300mm of the rear shock mount - Fail.

Rear chassis legs are part of the 'prescribed areas' and considered a load bearing structure so any corrosion would mean a fail

  16. Ok thank guys... Quick repair needed then

  17. That image is for a monocoque structure, I think this one is more appropriate.
Still a load bearing part though
