  1. Just about to go and get an aldi malted bloomer.....lovely!

  2. Lidl have started selling their own fresh bread as well.................just as good as Waitrose, and they make Bretzen!!:)
The only thing thats not so great is the way the bread is displayed, in open bins, should be behind glass for good hygene.

  3. I like Lidl fresh bread. I bough t Aldi sliced bread and the missis turned her nose up - reckons its too thin sliced. My suggestion to buy the thicker one is apparently stupid.

But she reckon the Aldi Magnum washing up liquid and washing powder is better than the big brands (so do Which)

I am not doing a 50 mile roundtrip to pick up Aldi bread, I don't care how good it is. The local bakery will do me just fine.

Pah - you know nothing about how to save money - Aldi bread is a good 20p a loaf cheaper.

Your Scottish ancestors would disown you.

Coming down here with your bourgeois decadent ways....;)

  6. Aldi - 92p for two large sliced loafs!

  7. I'm sorry, but I insist on making my own.
I even create my own yeast behind a pair of unwashed testiculodes.

  8. Rural Cambridgeshire is too posh to have an Aldi but we have allowed the peasants to have several Co-ops which I am told do an excellent range including a sourdough.

  9. I agree the Co-op have an excellent range ,well worth a visit

  10. What bread are you recommending from the Co-Op?
It's all stale by tea time.
I don't understand how they can manage to make anything quite so badly.

  11. Eat it at lunchtime then.

  17. I'm in posh bishops Stortford.... We've only just got an aldi, and I'm made up :0) the missus still thinks it's for peasants though! I cooked dinner the other evening, and it was one of the nicest pasta dishes I've made.... I'm a dab hand ;0).... She loved it, until I told her that everything was from aldi! Have you seen that little Britain sketch, where David walliams finds out who his food was made by .... Bleurgh!
That was my missus, that was!

  18. You can't beat a bit off home made bread.
I've just started to make some Italian breads and they are not coming out too bad.
