Bought after my mk1 caddy was killed by a school run mum in a passat paying more attention to her kids in the back than the road ahead.....rear ended me at around 50mph into oncoming traffic while I was stationary waiting to turn

The smashed rear window was from the back of my head going through it lol

3 months of searching turned up my 84 1500. Was bog stock when I bought it in June but I'm slowly getting it how I want it. I've stuck series one chrome bumpers on it, coilovers, alfa romeo gtv momo leathers and genuine '70s ally cat rallye specials amongst other things. It's coming off the road for the winter to have the engine bay smoothed and tucked, a 1.8 20v turbo lump from a mk4 golf, a ragtop roof and a respray. Bought a pair of NOS front wings, a dual bias pedal box and a heap of other new parts.... Aiming for some silverware at next years shows hope fully :)

School run Mum seems to have done a pretty good destruction job

  7. Yeah I mopped it with G3 but it just wasn't the same.... Lol
The spotlight is now on my bay.... Got a yellow lens one For the Jetta :)

  8. Yeah it's fair to say she mullered it.... It was bent from the tailgate to the passenger door sill!
Her 2006 passat suffered.....wait for it..... A scuffed bumper and broken number plate! Lol
The brand new X5 she pushed me into was a mess though

  9. Bit behind my original schedule but last month i finally got started on this. Now completely stripped, engine out and am in the process of smoothing the engine bay. Also cut in the webasto roof, which was a butt clencher to say the least....one slip with the grinder and it wouldve been a 'breaking for spares' ad on ebay! lol all went like clockwork thankfully and looks great :)
cabrio sailed through its mot last week too so to capitalise on the approaching summer months it might be up for sale soon if I can pry it away from the mrs...

I remember seeing that! I live just round the corner from there.

    Lovely looking caddy and Jetta!

  14. Really? wherabouts? Thought I was a lone old school vw voice in the dark on that estate lol there was a T25 westie just down the way but other than that I thought it was just me and mine

  15. I am in Chippenham, queens crescent, just down the round from where you had your accident. I also used to admire the mk1 in the back ground of your accident photo.

I used to own a mk1 golf gti campaign in Lhasa green. I loved that car, but need the room so sold it.

    Are you in Devizes?

  16. Small world....The silver series 1 mk1 is a mate of mines....he restored it and its a minter!
