    The black ones arn't liquorice flavour any more ...same as in the new sports mixtures .

    Bassetts Midget gems are the best... still made in Sheffield.

  6. I did a bitter work at trebor bassetts in the 90s , they used to give me big box of sweeties every time I went :)

  10. Original hard wine gums were great. I think it was Lyons who made them. Used to get a quarter in a little triangular bag from the sweet shop.
    And sports mixtures. Neither taste the same anymore. Probably full of dodgy flavorings back then but they tasted great :)

    Course I remember midget gems! Only bought a packet this afternoon (sold by the quarter at Birch Hall Inn, Beckhole)!

    Can't remember exactly but between me, the wife, daughter and two grandchildren, we spent nineteen quid on sweets (and a bit more on beer!)
