Update time: So the last few trips I have been filling and sanding to loose the wood grain and smooth everything out. I decided to router out the windows and panel lines, and it being my first ever use of one I think it turned out ok. Once I was happy with everything I gave it a proper prime coat ready for final sand and top coat:
Very funny. The windscreen is mostly filler and would look pants so i decided to paint that in, I would have had real troubles getting an edge to run the router along anyway with the curves there. Update coming.
UPDATE TIME: After lots of filling and sanding (no point in taking photos of that) it was finally ready for top coat so the little man and I went to the paint shop and went through countless swatches till I found a colour that was as close to what I want as I could find. A little bit more prep and two coats of colour went on: It's so hard trying to get a true representation of the colour in a photo, I'll try again in the sun once I have got the white painted. That's it for now
Update time: Yesterday, after much sanding and filling which I decided not to post pictures of, I got the first topcoat on the top. I left it 24hrs and came back today to give it a wet sand and another coat. Once it was dry I revealed the almost finished product, started painting the lenses and fitting the lights: Thats all for now
Very funny and very cool. Could maybe do with on board authentic engine noises. Whats the range...will it make it to the local shops?
