  1. After a bit of a break in work (and Motivation :- ) were back at it ;D

Got a lot of little bits tidyed up today like the couple of inches of weld needed to finish the front arch etc.

Then got the deformation panel end cap on

Then did the hooks for the sliding door track cover but forgot a pic, which then took me back to the rear end needing the engine lids hinge panel. had a bit of a clean and poke at the inner and i think most of it is going to have to go :(

Does anyone make them as we can't find them any where???

Also got the seat belt mount/ seat base welds all ground down and managed to set light to my fleece at the same time :laugh2:

    Propex locker?

I really have no idea, but my best guess would be extra air intake.

  6. Nope to both of them but good ideas! >:D

And thanks for the karma poptop - been good to get back on it! Think Mrs B gave me the kick up the bum I needed! :laugh2:

That or she was having serious withdrawal symptoms from not bare metalling!

Easy, its to fit the cat flap?

Well done getting back on to it, I have the same highs and lows on mine, seemingly it looks like nothing is happening before it will all start coming togther. K+ :-X

  8. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

    LPG?

  9. That was our second option for it, although it may now become our first as just had another plan >:D So keep guessing for our first choice but karma to Silver and Zed for the second choice! :)

I've now aligned the flaps properly, the holes are in line with each other, just bend flap hinges ::)

It's all finished off now till the hook up socket goes in but i've not got that yet.

    More to follow soon ;)

  14.
  15.
  16. Indeed Para, it would appear your not! ;)

Would appear there are definitely not enough hours in the day again  both really getting into being back on with Stig - kids keep getting more and more excited as they are starting to see him come together again too! :)

Next on our agenda is a game of scrabble

  17. Game of scrabble nearly over! .......................................... And I don't think we made a double word score, only a burnt finger. :))

Drivers door nearly in bare metal ready to be repaired so there will be a pic for Shielsey soon - that he has long been awaiting!

  18. Know you all like your pictures so thought we had better post some of our game of scrabble, the problem is we kept coming back to the same word we started with, oh well its not all bad:

    One set of scrabble letters:

Then I made a compass up to mark out the scrabble board:

Once the board was marked out, we started the game:

When we started the game on one rust free tailgate - I can't tell you how nervous Mrs B was - she had to go away and make sure no one made me jump or disturbed me

I assured her, once the first cut is done, its fine :-X

    See, told you so :p

Needs a little fill on the joins but other than that we are quite pleased! Not sure I will ever be trusted to play scrabble again with the kids! :laugh2:

We know the script has been done before but never seen it done like this!

May have something to do with the time involved in doing it :)) but we think its worth it and had fun!

  19. Nicely done id enjoy doing that sort of thing

  20. Very satisfying, but was mentally very challenging, and pretty stressful knowing you can't afford to replace the tailgate if it went wrong!

This is what Mrs B was up to when she left me to it:

Guess what ........................................ more bare metalling :laugh2:

And then I cut up her hard work when she had finished >:D

The door was still solid but there were a lot of what she calls spider web rust pits! So we thought we would err on the side of caution and lose the spiders now! :D
