Haha! Exactly the same thing has occurred to us too. Spent loads of time and money only to admit defeat and order the same window!! Only I haven’t had chance to fit mine yet but looking at how well yours has turned out it looks like we made the right decision
You’ll not regret buying it, We made sure that the frame on the body had plenty of waxoyl applied and the seal was slightly soft (it was a warm day here so that helped). I’m tempted to swap out the Louvre windows at a later date
Thanks for the tip. I’m probably going to have to remove the wardrobe and head banger to swap the windows over which means I’ve got to put the pop top up which means moving the camper outside! I was also thinking about the Louvres but to be fair they are what makes the Westy a Westy although I haven’t driven one for ages and I’m sure they are gonna rattle!!!
I think you'll be fine with the locker in situ, we managed okay - the wardrobe will need to be removed though. I agree the louvres are what makes a westy, we do like them and, when we did use Major, always had them open to some extent!

Cheers Neil! Under the 4mm ply is the original (?) fibreboard which was under another layer of thinner but stronger fibreboard sheet with the carpet stapled to it. The 4mm ply I’ve shown in the images replicates the thickness of what existed pre restoration, if that makes sense,
Do you have the link to the sliding window from JK? what did you think about how the window fitted and security?

H I’ve been busy sorting out the wardrobe, it needed a good clean down, the old varnish removing and re varnishing and a good polish up. The side panel next to the window needs replacing with new plywood. The edge of the laminate needed gluing back down and a good polish up. The laminate has got pieces missing, I’ll remove this and stain or varnish the wood. All of the plastic / rubber trim will be replaced with new.
Hey looking good! If you need some bits of laminate to splice in, I’ve kept the old laminate that I stripped off various parts of my interior.
One wardrobe refitted and looking much better. It’s had new handles, the cracked laminate removed and varnished, a good polish with bees wax, new trim strips, the old varnish removed and re applied and a new side piece fitted. I’m pleased with how it looks and up next is the coolbox unit.
Cheers dude, I’ll see how I go on with the coolbox unit, the lids have chunks of laminate missing. I’m tempted to varnish them to tie in with the varnished part of the wardrobe. The base unit laminate is excellent and crack free.
I’m liking it so far, but the units have a mix of plywood which varnished yellow / golden colour and other areas have a red colour when varnished. To start with, the plan was to delaminate all of the units but now I’ll keep going with what I’m doing!
