Looks the biz mate, were doing exactly the same to our devon sometime next year, concentrating on the cab area at the moment, will be giving sjsvwcamperinteriors.co.uk a call toward the end of the year ;D
Sorry for not updating sooner, training, springcamp and camperfest got in the way. I am pleased to report Luu made it to camperfest albeit without gas - this turned out to be terrible as it's the coldest weekend I've ever spent in a van :cold: :cold: :cold: so since the last update here's what we've been up to: 1st up I took valuable time out to fit the new radio When I returned to the garage with a brew Sophie had given the van her seal of approval Dad welded a bracket up for the electric hook-up Being the occasional idiot that I am I forgot to install the wiring for the propex and speakers - this was my solution (after a fair bit of cursing :) Wiring coming out of the wardrobe - looks quite neat really Cutting out for the smev unit I'm very proud that I managed to sucessfully wire the zig unit, I still need to do the 240 but I'm working up to that one!! Sophie "helping" to pull the cables through to the engine bay It works ;D I couldn't work out how to wire up this bloomin step, at 10.30pm the night before I was due to go away training I found the answer on the t'internet - oh what should a girl do? Put her slippers and dressing gown on and head to the garage of course - Problem solved yay 8) Part of the wiring jungle We took our first long run across to see the Wilmas - look it's an engine said Julie This bit looks shiny
Van looks absolutely fantastic - colour choice is spot on! quick question though, what website did you find the answer on for the step? we've got one too and could really do with an answer lol!
I have to admit I haven't been up to much recently. On the last morning of Chester Camperfest we discovered that the passenger cab door leaks, The safari window leaks (but only due to the deluge of water when we lift the poptop) the sliding door is a complete and total b*gger to close - at one point during the weekend the Wilmas had to shut us in as we couldnt manage it from the inside :-[ : :-[ So I am back to being fed up with her, she also wont idle so I have until our next trip (11th may) to get my nice mechanic to come round. The only bit of work that has been done is by my Dad! Pipe in place Individual gas taps on the smev and the Propex plus drop holes for each Just need to weld a cap onto the propex exhaust outlet Tomorrow I'm going to phone the mechanic and try and sort an electrician to do the 240V
Went to the garage today, that was a very scary trip involving left foot braking and stalling on very busy roads But RESULT it was just a loose connection so she is all better now - even better my lovely mechanic didn't charge us a penny 8) 8) Electrician came round this afternoon and we now have 240v power too - an all round good day Tomorrow we are going to buy some speakers and a fab head unit (thinking of the wizz bang ones with the flip out screen ;D), by next week we should have tunes yay!!
