Lowering my late Bay

  1. Hi,
I want to lower my 1977 Bay I was goingto use drop spindles for the front as I have usedthem on my Beetle and have been happy with the ride they offer.
For the rear I was at first going to use adjustable spring plates but then I saw 'horse shoe plates' has anyone used them and would you recommend them?

  2. I currently am running adjustable rear springplates (with notches) and dropped spindles on a French Slammer -4" Beam (from Graham @ Midland prototype bay).
The ride is really nice, a lot better than when I had an adjustable standard beam on.
I did have Horseshoe plates on the rear previously but one of the hub bolts snapped and the Horseshoe plate just folded. Adjustable rear Springplates is definitely the way to go in my opinion.
