Long flex-neck lighter.

  1. I have always thought how useful one of these might be & with my trusty old long neck approaching the end of it's useful working life, I splashed out the princely sum of £1.75 at BugFreeze and bought myself a rather attractive little number in O range.
Plans were to flex it in such a way as to permit super easy lighting of my Camper-van grill and other such, exacting, specialist tasks.
However, in early pre-season testing, I have been using it around the house to light the fire. When asked to do something fundamental like, shove that bit of coal a bit...
It is hopeless, it bends. Curls up in a little girlie ball and makes no effort to help me out at all.
I'm guessing it will be just as hopeless when trying to light a barbie.

So - nice idea - but it's push & shove disadvantages outweigh it's ability to curl around a particular lump of coal etc. And if you were toying with the valuable contribution one of these might make to your camping satisfaction and overall enjoyment, don't bother getting one, they're not very good.

That's just a five from Fishtrousers.

  2. Amazingly informative. Not at all what I was expecting.
Good effort Signor Pantaloni De Pesce.
