  1. Today I have trimmed the drivers arch, walk through and above the engine.

Also fitted the cab floor and rear half with sound deadening.

Next job is to fit the wooden floor, waxoyl inside the rear side panels and fit the insulation/vapor barrier ready for the side panels.

    Fit the vinyl flooring.
Waxoyl the interior side panel areas.
Fit the bubble foil insulation as vapor barriers in the side panels.
Trim and fit the interior panels.
    Fit bed kick panel.
    Fit headlining.
Change the switch on the back of the ignition barrel and fit steering column.
Finish dash wiring and fit dash top.
    Fit new windscreen.
Fit petrol tank and breather pipes.
Get engine bay deadening panels and tank cover panel fitted.
Prepare engine bay wiring ready for engine.
Fit split charge system including batteries.
Fit interior lights, charging sockets etc.
Fit basic mains hookup equipment with charger.
Fit engine tinware and fit engine including new heat exchangers and exhaust.
Set suspension and order shocks to match height.
Fit 1 brake flexi hose, new reservoir and bleed brakes.
    Connect handbrake.
Fit seats, curtains and bed cushions.
Wait for buddy box for between front seats to arrive and oil/varnish the interior units.
    Fit interior units.
    Waxoyl underneath.

    ENJOY!!!!

Didn't think we had far to go until I just listed it all down!

  8. What carpet is that you have in the front looks nice

  9. Hi,
The wheel arches and walk through have been done with Valtrem van lining carpet, the cab floor I think came from Dubfreeze a couple of years ago.

    More progress.......

  10. Cool cheers ,van looks spot on

  11. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Got a bit more done on the interior, dash wiring is finished and dash back together.
My dad has decided that he wants to recon the steering column for me.
Rixy is coming over on Thursday to help sort the headlining out with me.
Once the column and headlining is in Lola will be going up on axle stands so I can finish the mechanicals and Bach end wiring ready for the engine to go in.
Now I know that my biggest plane will fit without taking the wings off I have a feeling that Lola may be the preferred mode of transport to the flying field, plus I will be able to make a brew there!

  12. Who's roof canvas did you buy?! Looks a lot like my bus!

  13. i'd forgotten how time consuming reading these restoration threads can be ... but very great to see the progress

  14. Just Kampers canvas, part of a bundle kit with seals and toggles.

  15. Was in ok. Good quality? I've looked at that kit. Did it fit nicely?

  16. It took Rixy and me 4 hours to fit, we left the poptop on the bus, did the bottom edge first, supported the poptop so it wasn't quite fully raised, stapled the top and refitted the 2 stays. When the roof is fully raised the canvas is nice and taught.

New home made headliner, got the front section fitted to see how it looks.
