Give it a good squirt of penetrating oil from both ends , leave it a day or so , then mole grips or if you are lucky worth trying a drill to see if you can get it spinning .
Well, got the cable out in the end. Had to cut the tube they are carried in, in a couple of places unfortunately this was the only way. I then managed to push and pull the old cable out in smaller sections. Just putting new cable back in now! Thanks for everyone's help. All the best Mike
More rubber based fun. I'm after the concertina boots for the h/ex cable ends, are the modern ones any good, have you fitted them? Of is it a better idea to see if Mr FBI on page 2 still has some original used ones?
I did that as well Those connecters. . (Great minds think alike ) but i had tried to use a radio controlled electric service car steering motor to open the flap when one of my wires had to be replaced. Horrible job that was that wire thing .. Wish i finished the motor project . Had it all almost finished . Just press a button.
I've gone for a simpler, more rural solution. I tie then heater elbows open in the winter and then I cut the string in the summer when it's hotter. If we have a nice day during the winter and I get a bit too hot driving my van I open one, or possibly both, cab windows.
That's not in keeping with the rest of my van. I'm moving up. All hidden and superfluous items will be concourse.
