FREE Late Bay DIY Bumper Over Riders.

Ive got some late bay bumper overriders i dont need.
I made them a week or two ago, but ive since got rubbers for them and it turns out i have made them a tad too small.
anyway im going back to the drawing board so these are "prototypes"

Free to a good home! they wont work if your planning on fitting rubbers to them & there are no current methods of fitting, so youd have to come up with a way of attaching them.

Have you though about making a few of these and selling them as I think they look good mate.

If it would be financially viable and the price was right i'd buy a set off you.

Cheers for the positivity chaps! Yeah they arent too bad, im not gonna lie.. From measuring up with cardboard to getting them both finished took the best part of a day. I kinda rushed a little too. They arent a perfect fit as i bent the offside one a little. But its hard to notice.

A pair of fronts and rears could probably be squeezed out of a single sheet of £15 jk sheet metal.
So basically it would be £15 metal, £15 welding gas bottle then my time.
I have the templates on paper if anyone wants me to send them a copy to give it a go?

If i had a better way to cut out the tricky bumper shaped part i could easily knock up 4 a day.

And when my bus finally gets off to paint im more than happy to knock up a couple of sets for people on the cheap.

i didnt know it could be bought cheaper, i guess its one of those things i just didnt shop around for. luckily ive only bought one sheet so far, ill see if theres any sheet metal places near me.

 

Just an idea mate, but why don't you work out how much you would have to charge based on your expected time to knock them up including the gas & cost of the steel, then see how many people might be interested at that price?
May be a lucrative little sideline !!

 

OR you tell him what you are prepared to pay for a set and see if he can do it for that ......a genuine set can still be had for circa 200ish quid or mod early ones that are cheaper

 

Yeah this isnt really a business venture i was looking to go into, but if someone cant weld and wants me to knock them a cheap set up when i have nothing else to do im than happy too.

I think what ill do... On the bank holidays next week ill start making mine, and cut out several at the same time, then ill see if anyone wants me to weld them up.

Prices can be sorted at a later date.
