Thinking of summer camping, 1-2 weeks away. Which one, lake or peak. Want to do a bit of off grid so maybe 1 week at a campsite 1 week off grid, site must be kiddie friendly and ideally with a pool + clubhouse (kids entertainment)

    Any recommendations?

No doubt I’ll get a shock seeing the price of U.K. sites and end up abroad

  5. and if you go in school holidays it will rain, it’s guaranteed.

Best go in June for the good weather and take kids out of school - just have to man up and pay the fine and/or short custodial sentence.

Matlock is okay, we stay at The Duke William on Starkholmes, have you tried Lathkilldale Campsite, that’s a superb spot, The Bulls Head does nice food and beer.
We also love The Miners Standard over in Winster, another pub you’re made to feel welcome at!

Matlock is my home territory as I’m Crich born n bred :D
