  2. That's been my plan for a long time but with the house move and work I've had no time at all , have got a new job now so should not be working weekends as much

  3. Hi all it's been a while since a update so here we go I've started my new job which has give me weekends back now but I've been enjoying family time and time on my bike and now I final got round to the rear hub bearings.
So I got a bearing kit from gsf for about 20 pounds with 2 bearings and seals plus split pin etc and after a little battle it's all in must say trying to put the c clip in was a pain at first but my dad helped with a screw driver and a spanner ( I know not you normal tools for the job ) but it worked I've since had to take it out again though and put it in my self with just a hammer :)
So it's all built up ready for the van again does seem to sound a bit gritty if that makes sense and this is why I took it apart in the first place and found a broken bit but its all sorted so should be ok just need to tighten the nut up abit more for the split pin as I could only get it so far on the bench .
Does this seem like the right amount of thread at the top past the nut as I carnt remember how much was there before .
Anyway other than that the pop top is next to come of as a mate of mine is fibre glassing it for me :)

If you can see the split pin holes it's all good. The holes should end up about halfway down the castellation when it's tightened fully.

  6. Great to see you back on it dude:thumbsup:

  7. :) just wish I could get a move on with it but I want it safest spending time on the brakes and running gear

There are holes at diffent angles and you can always see at least part of one.

  9. Good to see you back on it Ash.

  10. Cheers mate , I'll take a look zed once I get back to it :)

  11. Ok this is not a bus update really but I've finally started the garage ( man cave ) first coat of paint on one half of the garage the other half is still full of junk lol
Just makes it abit brighter in there instead of brick even that I like the brick look it all needs a good clean up , half work shop and half gym soon :)

  12. And the other half nearly done , need to move more stuff [IMG]

  13. Nice space to work in there dude much nicer than cowering in the dark and cold under a tarp outside:thumbsup:

  14. I'm still working like that mate the van will fit in the garage but there is far to much stuff in there at the min , I need a shed for storage :)
    One day maybe

  15. Update
I've finally got the hub back on , woo Hoo but the wheel nuts don't seem to go all the way down I've tightened the castle nut up as much as I can with a big bar and a pole but it looks like it needs to pull it all together more ?
Anyway after that the van was put on its wheels and because the pop top Is due a overhaul and my mate is going to sort the fibre glass bits out it needed to come of .
So some hammering and drilling and some screw removal it came off but the rear of the bus is very flimsy so I'll be adding my own support brace in at some point .
Kind of like it with out the pop top and was thinking of other things to do with the big hole

  16. Took all the pop top frame apart the main frame that screws to the roof of the van is ok needs a sand and paint but it will do .
Te other part of the frame is shot and needs replacing other than that I've started to clean the canvas and see if I can re use it to save buying a new one [IMG][IMG]

  17. Another few hours in on the bus and I can say I'm no were near haveing this thing on the road it's one bit after another its hard to repair sections under van while welding on your back but today I got the last jacking point on did have to make my own top hat section which went better than I though but any way to the pics this is sort of half way and after grinding down the welds I've seen sealed them, I don't like to grind the welds down to much as it can go through very easy and then there would not be much point of the weld [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
