anyone with a type 4 running j tubes - do you have the end of the fan casing blocked off or open? the 2 parts where the air would feed the exchangers and push warm air to the cab is what i mean. mine was blocked but now it's open after my aborted attempt to fit heat, i could put the caps back on the end but i don't know if it matters

  2. block them off with gaffer tape. Get it on there nice and tight
    :)

  3. did the exchangers not work out?

still need a few bits but have got a propex coming anyway so may shelve it until i feel like doing it, incidentally - any reason to block off? does it make the fan work better? only wondered 'cos if the heating was on but full of holes it would in effect be free to escape.....

  5. With the holes open there is a risk of sucking hot air up from under the tin and then using this air to try and cool the engine. this would be even worse if you were stuck in a trafic jam.

As for the outlets on the fan housing. if these are open then air will just be blown out under the bus. As the air flow will always take the least restricted route, you run the risk of having inadiquate cooling to the heads. Remember, the heat exchangers would ristrict the flow of air from the fan, so most will always go to the heads
