What you dont want is heavy return springs on carburettors themselves as they often mean you have to pull harder sideways on the throttle spindles to get the spring to stretch. That makes them wear through the carburettor bodies faster. Use the inline spring, make sure you have the spring under the pedal too, so each part of the system is responsible for returning itself to idle.
